How was January 2012?

January 2012 was cool. Like everyone else, I spent the first of January celebrating New Year's. I recall watching the brilliant fireworks exploding and crackling against the night sky. The flowery flares danced to the rhythm of techno beats, illuminating the dark sky with a spectacular array of neon colours. All Praises to Allah for allowing me to enjoy a beautiful sight.

January 2012 was bizarre. I made a spontaneous decision to delete my Facebook account. I have for a long time contemplate to be away from this highly addictive and habitual social networking site but its blue and white walls never seem to stop calling out for me. Suspecting that Facebook was up to something sinister was a true catalyst for me to entirely abandon it. Everyone thinks I'm a lunatic now for deleting my Facebook account and believing in conspiracy theories but I assure you, I am not. I personally believe I have made the right choice to protect myself from privacy invasion.

January 2012 was warm. I met my Henley friends at West Lakes Mall after a month of school holidays. Albeit the boredom and lack of activity, we went to the pavilion by the duck pond not far from the mall. It used to be our sanctuary on Friday afternoons after school. We talked about our future aspirations and struggles to find a summer or part-time job until we had to part ways. I felt glad having caught up with them. The second time I met up with my Henley friends was for a friend's birthday at Watermark's international buffet in Glenelg. The seafood was good but I was quite disappointed there wasn't any oysters.

January 2012 was beautiful. We went to Port Vincent where the sea was a blue blanket sparkling under the blazing sun. I felt a tornado of emotions during my stay there. I was sad, missing, angry, upset, disappointed and content but the cooling sea water took it all away. I forgot this world and remembered the Hereafter. I thought everything was divinely decreed and I believed everything was for a good cause, InshaAllah. We went out to sea on a rented kayak. Kids playing by the floating platform. Small boats and yachts here and there. A few kayaks just like us too. A couple attempts to dodge head on collisions with boats and other kayaks and a rare but fun bumpy ride through a jet ski’s waves. It reminded me how I loved the sea and longed to learn sailing.

Guess January 2012 was bitter sweet but InshaAllah, I'd come to acceptance.

Moved back here. Haha.

I know I have bad habits when it comes to blogging. I change my blogging platform between blogger, wordpress and tumblr frequently, especially whenever I feel that I can't think of what to write on that platform anymore. (Right now, Blogger seems to allow my thoughts flow like water.) I delete my archives after a few months of blogging. I don't post stuff as much as I should. I'm always on a hiatus. My blog posts aren't that great to read.

SO! For my new year's resolution (this is hopeless), I'm going to blog properly and stick to Blogger! Write proper posts! (Okay maybe not because I take blogging as an entertainment xD) and give you (my dear readers) the best of Hafiz's life!
